We have probably never met face-to-face, although you certainly heard the terrible story of the destruction of our homes in Ganei-Tal in Gush Katif and of our expulsion, a story which we are certain touched your heart. We were part of this story and today we decided to start a worldwide fundraising campaign for the reconstruction of Ganei Tal.
As you know, sixteen months have now passed since our traumatic expulsion from our homes in the village of Ganei Tal in Gush Katif, one of the most beautiful and flourishing areas of Eretz Israel. The awful expulsion itself took five days, and for the past sixteen months the authorities have not had the wits or the will to rehabilitate us and our brethren from Gush Katif or to build them homes. We, the people of the Moshav of Ganei-Tal, were expelled and moved as one man to the temporary housing estate at Yad Binyamin (after two-and-a-half months in the Hafetz Haim Guest House). To this day we live there as a unified community and await the moment when we shall be permitted to move to the area which has been allotted to us for rebuilding our village on the lands of Hafetz Haim near the city of Ashdod. The negtioations of the representatives of the Ganei Tal Members' Committee with the various government ministries are now at an advanced stage, and we hope that in a matter of days there will be a final agreement and we shall be able to begin constructing the houses, rehabilitating our businesses and farms, and erecting the public buildings we need.
This is of course only the first step on a long fund-raising journey for the purpose of rebuilding our Moshav. We invite you to join the many who have already begun to help and inform your neighbors and acquaintances about the assistance needed to rebuild our village.
For this purpose we at Ganei Tal have invested much time and energy in plans for informing the public. We produced a high-quality film clip as our visiting card, which can also serve as a presentation for the public at large, since it deals with a truly humanitarian issue, with no political overtones. The film has been placed on our website, www.katif.net/ganeital, also constructed specifically for the fundraising campaign aimed at rebuilding Ganei Tal. There you can read our updates, and of course see the film and pass it on.
We hope and believe that the ties we have forged will strengthen in the future. For our part we shall do our best to maintain contact with you and pass on to you every bit of relevant information about what is happening here, in particular about the reconstruction of our Moshav. The best way we can inform you is if you would pass on to us your e-mail address and that of any other individuals or organizations that may be interested in helping us, so that we can pass on the relevant information as efficiently and as quickly as possible.
In the name of the members of the Moshav of Ganei Tal we thank you for your willingness to help us make the contacts needed for the reconstruction of our village soon, with God's help, on the lands of Hafetz Haim.
Thank you very much again,
Moti Sender 972-545-684085 and Rivka Goldschmidt 972-545-684804 Ganei Tal at Yad Binyamin
